The Hive and The Honey Bee,

You may or may not know that I keep a few hives of honey bees.

This painting shows my love for the little critters. The still life includes a honey bear, a few vintage bee keeping books, and a ceramic honey jar. Also in the painting is a mechanical bee toy from my vintage toy collection. She walks and flaps her wings when you wind her up.

The painting wouldn't be complete without a honey bee flying by.

It's been a while since I painted marbles but here's my newest interpretation. I love the bright colors and the way the the light shines through.
