Remember when Disney used to make good movies? In Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket tried to lead Pinocchio down the right path by telling him to "give a little whistle and let your conscience be your guide."
This tin wide up Jiminy and the plastic Pinocchio are from my collection of vintage toys. As I'm downsizing these days my vintage toys will be the last thing to go!

I just felt like doing another painting with my cowboy friend Howdy Doody.
This unlucky fellow has a broken rope, A horse shoe with the luck flowing out and a few bullet holes in his sheet music. But he just keeps on smiling. There's a lesson there somewhere.

Wow! I was awarded 2 place Overall in the April Plein Air Magazine contest but I thought this was an online show and it didn't occur to me that I would be in the magazine. So I was surprised when I got a copy of the Sept issue and there was my painting "The Making of a Cowboy" on page 80!
I love unexpected blessings. But aren't all blessings unexpected?

I love the idea of the rooster wearing peacock feathers. That says it all.
