Here's my latest Trompe L'oeil painting in my Vintage Board Game series. This game was manufactured by Parker Brothers in 1959.

My Orbit game is in pretty good shape. Fortunately, I have 2 very beat up Monopoly games that I used for inspiration for the tape, dents and dings.

I love licorice! Any kind, any where, any time. Allsorts is my favorite. Not only is it tasty but it's also beautiful. It's truly Eye Candy.

I enjoyed painting the glass lid. The abstract shapes of the reflections and highlights made it a real challenge.

It was hard to decide which kind of pastry to include since all pastry is wonderful. I decided on Berliners (bismarcks, jelly donuts, Pączki, what do you call them?) I also included a favorite knife and linen napkin.

Summerfall Winterspring

 Summerfall is another of my contemporary realism oil paintings featuring my vintage toys and ceramics. The main figure is the Indian Princess marionette, Summerfall Winterspring , from the Howdy Doody television show. Also included is a vintage scarf, a chalk figure (the kind you used to be able to win at carnivals) and a mule from an 1800’s mechanical toy.

Ride 'em Cowboy

Ok, my secret is out. I love vintage cowboy figurines. Alright, it wasn't much of a secret. I collect them. I display them. I love them.

The background features a silk scarf with a wonderful picture of a cowboy on a horse.  Each ceramic cowboy has his own palomino  horse and a cactus to show us he is in the Southwest.

I like the hard, shiny figurines against the soft texture of the scarf and rug.

The Last of the Mohicans. As we all know I love old books, toys and other fun things. The vintage American Indian ceramic figurines are part of my collection and make me smile every time I look at them. And these books have an average age of 100 years. Yes, Last of the Mohicans is one of them.
